Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, and interpretation of data. It depends on data collection. Companies use use statistics to represent the sale of some products. It is used for surveys and experiments. Statistics helps us to decide on a conclusion from a data.
Statistics is used to study many areas that affect us.
Some examples are:
- Traffic control studies use statistical diagrams to improve the transportation system.
- Weather forecasts uses statistical diagrams.
- Medical studies use statistical diagrams.
- Statistics is used to predict diseases.
- The stock market uses statistical diagrams.
The measures of central tendency of statistics is mean, median and mode.
My own experience was when I was doing my data collection. I got to know what was statistics and the different types of graphs.
The types of graphs and charts are: Pictograms, Bar graphs, Pie charts, Line graphs, Frequency tables, Histograms, Dot diagram and Stem and Leaf diagram.
My father is an enginner and he usually needs to do some graphs and charts. I figured out that he was using statistics. I also learnt that statistics has a big part of daily life applications. Statistics also makes us to understand the information more easily.
